AARON TIPPIN: Board of Directors
After
three #1 singles, one #2 single, one Top 5 single, six Top 10 singles,
and sales of well over 5 million albums over the life of his career,
Aaron Tippin still sings what he knows about most—strong
family ties and hard work.
Aaron's
wife Thea, daughter Charla, and sons Teddy and Thomas are the
focus
of his life. "When I'm at home, I'm going to
be with my wife and kids. It's precious and important and life
is too fragile to live any other way."
Aaron's
hard-edged twang is one of the more distinctive sounds in today's
country
music. Hits like "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong
With The Radio," "Working Man's Ph.D.," "Kiss
This," "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly" and
now, "Come Friday" have earned him a solid following
and have established Aaron's identity in an ever-changing country
scene.
One of Aaron's favorite hobbies is being in the outdoors, Whether
he is flying one of his planes, riding in his Bad Boy Buggy, hunting
or fishing or making wine, Aaron and his family are on the go.
And like a good wine, Aaron Tippin has mellowed with age.
"I've changed since the beginning of my career," Aaron
says. "I've learned to relax and quit thinking that everything's
gotta happen right now. One thing that hasn't changed in Aaron's
life is the consistent support of his fans. Aaron is excited about
Sticks and Stones Outdoor Adventures. “Anytime you can work
on a project that encompasses all of your hobbies, that’s
saying something”.
Kyle Skinner: Board of Directors
Kyle
grew up chasing small game, upland birds and fishing the lakes
of Northwest Iowa. The experience that was acquired and the skills
that developed have led to an extensive knowledge that he loves
to share with others. Whether its teaching a young outdoorsperson
a new fishing technique or teaching the “old veteran” how
to use his GPS, there’s a strong desire to help others experience
that feeling that only the outdoors can provide. Organizing and
participating in fishing and hunting trips that involve both the
experience and inexperienced have resulted in some of his most
rewarding outdoor adventures.
Kyle’s true love of the outdoor world are fishing and working
with pointing dogs in pursuit of America’s upland birds.
Freshwater to saltwater, walleyes to tarpon, he loves it all. In
the middle of the winter when his guns and bow are put away you
can find him ice fishing the lakes of the northern states and Canada
. Kyle is a huge proponent of CPR (catch, picture, release) and
knows from experience that there’s no feeling like letting
the big one go to fight another day.
Kyle comes to Sticks and Stones outdoor adventures with experience,
passion and desire to help others enjoy the outdoors as much has
he does.
Ed Walsh: Board of Directors
As
the son of an avid hunter and fisherman, Ed Walsh grew up with
the ultimate sportsman, and pretty much became destined from birth
to become one himself. His father's love of the outdoors fueled
Ed's own passion at a very early age. This passion has only grown
since becoming a father himself. Growing up on Long Island, NY
has allowed Ed limitless access to the Great South Bay, where he
and his Dad would fish and duck hunt all year long. Ed's childhood
love and knowledge of the waters are what led him to become a PADI
Dive Master and a Coast Guard licensed Captain. During his childhood,
the mountains of upstate New York became Ed's proving ground. There,
he developed and fine-tuned his hunting and woodsmanship skills.
Shooting target in high school and competitive skeet from his teens
to this day have honed his shooting abilities. Today, Ed is a member
of the Knight Rifles and Eders.com Pro Staffs. He hunts deer and
turkey in Iowa, Missouri, New York and Pennsylvania every year.
As a NYC Fireman Ed has seen the best and worst life has to offer.
He has been cited for bravery 6 times in his career. In August
of 1999, he received a commendation from mayor Rudy Guiliani for
a daring high angle rescue he preformed with his fellow firefighters.
Ed was at Ground Zero on 9/11 and most of the 10 months thereafter,
searching for victims and the 343-brother Firefighters that were
lost that day. Having worked as a rescue dive instructor for the
New York City Fire Department helped further develop his skills
as a divemaster. This led to his love of underwater photo and video.
This hobby has taken him around the world to places as far as the
South Pacific, were he has traveled to film giant Manta rays and
a myriad of shark species. With a background in sales, a passion
for everything outdoors and 16 years as a NYC firefighter, Ed brings
a unique mix of knowledge and life experience that will surely
be an asset to the Sticks &Stones team.
Travis Altenhofen: Prostaff and TV Producer
Imagine
a small farming community that consist of roughly six hundred souls and
one "main" street. Throw in a lake, some rivers bottoms and a
whole lot of corn and soy bean fields and that is where this modern day
cowboy gained his knowledge of the great outdoors. Growing up in the flats
of southernMinnesota, the outdoors just seemed to be the way to pass the
time. As a young lad, many people, including family and friends contributed
to the molding of my life as an sportsman. It's those many people, that
are now known as my "hunting buddies" that make the outdoors
a way of life. If your eye is always on the prize, you forget the reason
that you are a sportsman. Taking your annual "trip" to the hunting
cabin in the fall for yet another year. The cards, the beer, and the jokes.
That is what you remember. The mounts on the wall are just the simple reminders
of the great times had while enjoying Gods country. Wether it is the smile
on a childs face aftertheir first harvest or the inner chill that hits
you as the sun comes over the horizon, being an outdoorsman reminds us
all that we are blessed to live the life (it's spiritual, it's peace).
My goal for the upcoming season is to show real footage. Get the viewer
as close to
the action as possible. Get away from the same old same old. Create new ideas
and concepts that will change the way you see outdoor programming. So get excited,
we'll be letting loose and having a whole lot of fun along the way. Stay tuned!!!!!
Curtis Goettsch: Prostaff
Curt
Goettsch has always been an outdoorsman at heart. He can remember early
in life that there was some thing pulling him into the great outdoors,
an inherent need to hunt and fish. Spending every chance he got to fish
with his parents and hunt with his grandfathers he gained knowledge of
the outdoor sports. As a young man he would become the driving force within
his group of friends to go hunting and fishing, even in what some would
call “less then ideal conditions”. Known too many of his friends
and family as the “lucky one”, and always up for a good time
and challenge, no matter what the weather man had to say. He likes the
saying “You can’t kill anything sitting in front of a TV”.
Curt can remember as early as third grade, when his teacher asked him what
he wanted to be when the he grew up, he said a hunter. These life long
passions lead Curt to Upper Iowa University in which he graduated with
a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Management. This degree lead
him into the field of Private Lands Management with the Iowa DNR. Curt,
in having worked in this field for many years, brings a great deal of knowledge
in wildlife management to Sticks and Stones.
Curt
still spends as much time as he can in the outdoors, most of
his time, chasing whitetails and
wild turkey with a bow, in addition to, trout fishing, calling ducks
and geese, and making time for the ever popular Midwest pheasant
hunt. Curt,
over the last few years has become a force in professional turkey calling
ranks, competing at the national level as well as at many local events
every year. Still he finds time to fit in seminars and outdoor classrooms
for all ages. Even though, Curt finds himself in the role of the teacher,
is striving to learn more and takes every opportunity to gain knowledge
and continue his education. Curt is a strong supporter and volunteer
of many outdoor organizations such as National Wild Turkey Federation,
Pheasants
Forever, Whitetails Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, and is a Life Member
of the North America Hunting Club. Whether it is putting in a
long day at
the office, helping a landowner create his own piece of paradise or spending
all day in a tree stand lying in wait for the buck of a lifetime, he’s
having a great time living his dream. |
